The JC V1 is a tool used in the mobile device repair industry to transfer screen serial data from the original screen to a new screen; this will keep many of the original features used on today’s iPhones. Many repair techs in the industry use this tool to restore data from previous repair works which have not included this feature and new repairs. In this how-to guide, we’ll cover how to use the JC V1 to fix True Tone on your device, and how to upgrade the board to allow the tool to support the new iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
How do I use the JC V1 to take data from one screen and transfer to a new screen?
The main use from the JC V1 is to use the device to read data from the user’s current screen, and copy it onto a new one. This data includes serial information, True Tone, and much more. Below is a step by step guide on how to do this:
Plug your JC V1 into a power source.
Connect the existing screen; data should now show on the screen.
Press the “Read” button. Once read the machine will beep.
Disconnect the old screen and connect the new screen.
Press the “Write” button. It will ask you to confirm the data file hit yes.
Wait for data to be written and verified.
Once data has been written, the V1 will beep.

How To Upgrade My JC-V1 Truetone Programmer With The New iPhone 11 Pro Max Board
The current JC V1 works out of the box with iPhone 7 up to XS Max. However, it will require an upgrade in order to work with the iP 11 models. iParts4U have made this handy article to help understand how to install and update your device.
The first step is to install the board into your JC-V1 this is a reasonably simple process all you need to do is remove the existing board by lifting it from the device. Once removed fit the new board this should clip into place
If you haven’t already, install and launch the JC Repair Assistant software.
Open your JC repair tool on your computer and connect the JC-V1 by an 8pin to USB and it will automatically update. Please note, do not disconnect the JC-V1 until the upgrade has completed. If you do, the screen will go white. If this does happen, plug the device back in again and wait for the full update to complete.
You are now set up, and your V1 is up to date and now compatible with iPhone 11 models. You can now start transferring True Tone and other data onto models from iPhone 8 through to 11 Pro Max
How do I restore the True Tone function after a screen repair?
True Tone is a feature on all iPhones from 8 and upwards. If you have had a screen repair with a screen that does not support the True Tone function, you may have noticed a loss in colour vibrancy. Luckily, this can be fixed with a new screen that supports this function, such as an iParts4U iP9 screen or premium screen or a screen that has an EEPROM chip.
You may ask what True Tone is and why is it essential? The True Tone function on the iPhone 8 and upwards allows the screen to have better colour to match that of the original screen, without the True Tone function, the colours will not be as good as what you’d expect with an original screen.
How can I use the JC-V1 to enable truetone after I have lost the function from a previous screen repair?
