Quite often we get asked by our customers if we supply original Apple batteries, so we decided to write up a small post addressing this. As it currently stands, no third party repairer or seller can supply new genuine Apple batteries, this is because Apple does not sell any parts to third parties. There may be some companies and individuals out there that claim they get original Apple batteries (usually “out the backdoor from Foxconn”), however, this is simply not true! Do you really think a trillion-dollar company like Apple would let batteries leave their factories without following their procedures? The simple answer is no! These batteries in the market will more than likely not be from Apple. These batteries will usually have little to no safety certifications on them as its not possible to get safety certifications on used or fake “OEM” batteries using the official Apple trademark. These products and sellers should be avoided.
As a company, we have spent over 6 years working with our manufacturer in China to develop a battery that has all the relevant safety certifications and is built to a similar specification as an original Apple battery along with all the same safety features as a new iPhone battery would be expected to come with. We fully believe that our batteries are the best in the market, and many of our customers think so too.
Recently, it’s been found that misinformation has been spread amongst repairers on social media about aftermarket iPhone batteries, that they cause NAND failures and further damage to iPhones. We want repairers to rest assured that if you are buying batteries from a trusted source you won’t get these issues as most reputable suppliers will usually supply batteries that are manufactured to not cause this issue.
If you get a constant boot loop on an iPhone after a new battery has been installed, then it usually means that the safety feature on the battery is not working or that it simply doesn’t have one. As the low battery voltage messes with the NAND function it causes an “error 9“. A restore will normally resolve this in most cases with a new, good quality battery. iParts4U batteries come with this safety cut-off so that when the voltage of the battery drops below 3.72 volts, the battery will not boot up the device until it has at least a 3% charge.
It has also been said that if a battery does not have an Apple logo on it, then it will damage the phone, however, this is not true. There are many batteries out in the market that have put the Apple logo onto the product which have been copied, these batteries are not safety checked and are most likely used batteries with re-wraps or are low-quality copies using the original Apple PCB flex which has come off of an original battery and had the cycle count manually reset. It goes without saying that these types of batteries should always be avoided. The point is that not all batteries with or without logos go through the relevant safety checks and are quite often poor quality and will most likely lead to poor battery life and have little to no safety features and may either come with short or even no warranty. You must always purchase batteries from a trusted source in order to avoid these types of issues.
