The second generation of this Apple tablet was released in 2014 with the iOS 8 operating system, although it can now fully support iOS 9 and most of iOS 10. The hardware was very similar to the generation of iPhones released at the time. It also featured 2 GB of RAM, which made it the first device to run iOS with more than 1 GB of RAM. Inside is an impressive Apple A8X processor and an 8-core PowerVR GPU. The Air 2 was also the first model to use the Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
This version of the tablet was undoubtedly a great device, but Apple must continue innovating and release new products. As a result, the tablet was officially discontinued by Apple in 2017 to make room for the current generation. This led to a significant increase in the cost of Air 2 replacement products sold by Apple and their OEMs. However, we stock a range of suitable components for a range of different repairs. Use this page to find the part you need or contact us if you can’t.
Screen issues are one possible issue that can arise. A damaged screen is among the most common problems tablet owners experience. It's particularly common with the Air 2 because the unit is thin and large. It has a lot of surface area to crack when it hits the ground and not much to protect it. Unfortunately, the LCD screen and the digitizer are fused together, which means it's not as simple or affordable as just replacing the glass. A damaged screen means that the entire LCD assembly must be replaced.
Don't think this means that you need to replace your tablet or send it away to an official Apple repair service, however, as of those options can be very expensive. Here at iParts4U, we carry compatible replacement LCD screen assembly units at a much better cost than you can find anywhere else (and if you do our Price Match Promise with our unrivalled service and support will be of interest). Look through our extensive inventory of replacement parts to find your new screen.
Our products are not made by Apple and are instead manufactured specifically for aftermarket repairs. They are designed exactly like official screens but they come at a much smaller cost to you. We are 100 per cent confident that our replacement parts are up to par, which is why they come with either a standard 1-year warranty or a full 2-year warranty.
Other parts may be needed and a damaged screen is not the only problem you can encounter with this tablet. Some other examples include a malfunctioning home button, a damaged camera, waterlogged microphone, and a damaged charging port. All of these seem like serious problems, but they can be fixed with the replacement parts we have in stock. Our parts list for this model includes:
And many other components that may be helpful (call us and ask if you have an issue that isn't covered by the above). Don't let a damaged screen, charging port, or camera be the end of your device. It's an excellent tablet and was likely a significant investment for you. Keep that investment safe by purchasing the replacement parts needed to make the fix. Contact us if you have any questions or need help finding the right parts.
