Short answer, yes absolutely! Whilst Apple doesn't actually sell replacement parts to third-party companies, in the UK, under the Consumers Right Act 2015, there is the Right to Repair. This gives way for consumers who wish to repair their Apple device to do so with third-party products.
If you don’t want to spend £100's using the Apple repair services, then looking for a trusted, quality part supplier is the first step for fixing your Apple iPhone 8 Plus. iParts4u is proud to be one of the most trusted and reliable supplier's of replacement phone parts in the UK.
Of course, doing these Apple iPhone repairs can sometimes be tricky, and whilst iParts4u have a team of experienced technicians on hand to help answer any questions you may have, it is recommended that a professional complete any repairs you are not comfortable with.
There are many different reasons why an iPhone 8 Plus screen would not turn on or would stay blank, even if there is still evidence of the phone working. Before dissembling your mobile phone, there are a few things you should check to diagnose your problem. Is the phone simply not charged? Try plugging your phone in for at least an hour to check if the battery has run flat. Is your phone screen very dark, but you still can hear notifications? If the LCD is dark, and not black, you may want to try upping your brightness setting to make sure it's not down the brightness on the phone. If you plug your phone into iTunes, are you able to connect correctly? If the answer is yes, then it may be down to a faulty LCD, backlight or even down to a motherboard issue.
If you think your screen is at fault, you may wish to test your LCD by purchasing a replacement from iParts4u, and simply dry test the replacement screen that you have purchased. If you power up the LCD and all seems to be working again, this should resolve your issue! However, if you still have trouble powering up the phone, this would imply a further issue with your mobile. If you simply cannot power the device, even with a new display, it may mean your phone may have further issue's with the battery, or even with the motherboard itself.
If you're unsure, you're welcome to send your mobile device into iParts4u as we offer a diagnosis test at £20. We may even be able to repair your phone, due to the high volume of replacement parts we stock, we can do most repair services while you wait!
To better answer this question, it's worth explaining in more detail how Apple works as a company. Apple does not sell replacement parts for their phones or devices, except to certified service centres. The term "OEM" can be misconstrued and imply that the product is made by Apple which is not possible for brand new unused goods coming from a third party company. We caution our customers to be wary of anyone claiming to sell "Apple original brand new" or "OEM" goods, as this will not be truthful, or will be so without Apple's permission.
So no, we do not stock OEM parts. However, our Premium grade replacement parts are made using the same source manufacturer and made to the same specification as the originals, but these will not contain the Apple logo as this is a direct infringement of Apple's rights by using their trademark. Once again, we caution any customer looking at potential suppliers who use the Apple logo on their replacement parts, as this is not strictly legal.
If you're looking for as close to the original parts for your phone, we recommend using our premium product range. However, all of our products, third party or otherwise, are all tested and certified with the relevant certifications so you can be sure iParts4u offer the best quality replacement parts for your phone repair, whatever your budget!
You may have noticed that iParts4u stock lots of different replacement LCDs. This is to ensure we are able to suit all our customers wants and needs. Our Premium grade, as mentioned above, is as close to the original screen that you can have without a refurbished product. This is the more expensive, as it is made with the same raw source materials which increase the price, but replicates the original in every way. The High-Quality displays are cheaper than the premiums because they are made using third party materials and are slightly differently put together, these also come with a 12-month warranty like the Premium grade. Our cheapest quality unit is the Budget quality, these come with a 3-month warranty and despite functionality and build being very similar to the originals, these will be slightly slower in terms of response speed.
We do also offer a "complete" version of most of our displays, meaning there are the small parts pre-attached to the screen assembly make your iPhone repair much easier. In later model phones, this will not include the home button, as these are linked to the logic board. Replacing the home button on the 5s series or above means you lose the Touch ID function. Unless you have a specially formatted home button (like the ones iParts4u sell) on the 7 series and above, replacing the home button just fills the void in the LCD, even the standard home button use ends. Check out our home button recovery kits for the 7/8 series to restore your home button function if yours is in need of repair!
