The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus arrived in August 2024 as an uprated version of the (2a), sharing the same chassis and broad internal layout while adding a faster chipset variant and revised front camera hardware. For repair workshops, this is the useful and slightly awkward part: the two devices look nearly identical on the bench, and several parts categories cross over between them — but several do not, and getting it wrong means a wasted part and a return.
The (2a) Plus sits in lower UK volumes than the standard (2a), which had a longer sales run and the more aggressive price point. Workshop intake reflects that. Most shops will see several standard (2a) devices for every (2a) Plus, so stock planning should weight accordingly — but having (2a) Plus parts available is what stops a job being turned away.
Replacement Components UK
The (2a) Plus and standard (2a) are visually close enough that assuming based on appearance is a genuine risk. Check the model number in Android Settings under About phone before ordering any part where compatibility is uncertain. The device model code is also printed on the retail packaging and, on most units, on the SIM tray or rear panel regulatory markings. Where a customer has brought in a device without packaging and you cannot confirm the variant, our technical team can advise based on the IMEI.

Screen Replacement
Screen damage from drops is the dominant repair, as on the standard (2a). The display assembly is shared between the two variants in most sourcing, which simplifies stock holding — one screen line covers both devices. This is the single biggest efficiency available to a workshop supporting both variants, and worth confirming with your supplier on each batch rather than assuming permanently.
Battery Replacement
The (2a) Plus uses the same 5000mAh cell capacity as the standard (2a), and battery service follows the same procedure. Devices from the August 2024 launch are now approaching the two-year mark where capacity degradation becomes noticeable — shortened runtime, rapid drops under load, shutdowns before 20% remaining. Battery intake on this model is building now.
Charging Port Repair
USB-C port failure from angled insertion and connection wear presents identically to the standard (2a). Port replacement is board-level micro-soldering requiring hot air rework equipment. The port assembly is generally cross-compatible between (2a) variants, but verify before ordering.
Camera Modules — Where the Variants Diverge
Camera hardware is the category where (2a) and (2a) Plus part compatibility breaks down. The (2a) Plus received revised front camera specification over the standard (2a), meaning front camera modules are not interchangeable between the two. Rear camera compatibility should also be verified rather than assumed. This is the most common source of ordering errors on these two devices — if you take one thing from this page, take that.
Rear Panel and Glyph Interface
The (2a) Plus uses the same three-segment Glyph arrangement around the centred camera module as the standard (2a). Rear panel construction and removal procedure are equivalent. The transparent panel means internal finish quality remains visible to the customer post-reassembly, so workshop standards on adhesive cleanup and bracket alignment need to be higher than on a conventional Android rebuild.
Replacement Components UK
Lower-volume variants are exactly where UK parts availability falls apart. Most trade suppliers stock the mainstream model and leave the variant uncovered, which means a workshop with a (2a) Plus on the bench is sourcing internationally with a two-to-three week lead time and an unhappy customer. iParts4U holds UK stock across both (2a) variants specifically so that the variant does not become the reason a job gets turned away. Trade accounts give repair shops volume pricing and priority on incoming inventory.
